Meet Jan

Jan Falk is an artist, teacher, and lifelong learner. She taught K4-12 art for more than 25 years, 9 full time. Now retired, Jan is concentrating on teaching adults, creating, and showing artwork. After dabbling in many types of fiber work, she discovered wet felting and has been mesmerized ever since. The transformation from loose fibers to felt is magical. She first taught herself from a library book, but then started taking classes from local and state felt artists, then national and internationally known felt artists.

Jan continues to explore the possibilities of felting and combining felt with other materials, especially glass and ceramic beads at present. She teaches in Milwaukee, Racine, Madison, & has taught at the Wisconsin Sheep and Wool Festival, Madison Knit In, Loose Bead Society Bead Retreats, and at the Bead & Button Show. She also has had felt works accepted in juried shows: Warped Milwaukee, the Alverno Alumnae Art Exhibit, juried show “Whiter Shade of Black”, BVAG sponsored ARTiculate, and the first and second Wisconsin Fiber Biennales.
